Meet Nick...

Nick Law is a Registered Psychotherapist  (#12001) and member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph, Social Service Worker diploma at Humber College, and completed his Master’s Degree in Clinical Counselling.

Nick is a Co-Founder of Niilo Wellness with the primary focus of serving clients from all walks of life within a community of like minded wellness professionals.

As a support worker at Wyndham House in Guelph, Nick helped youth struggling with homelessness, employment, addictions, and the law through a combination of emotional support, life skills, and fostering positive connections in the community. He listened carefully to their individual stories and learned the importance of building trusting relationships instead of just giving advice.

Working with Family and Children’s Services in Guelph, Nick helped implement programs to help a range of families experiencing conflict and breakdown. He worked closely with parents helping them develop healthier attachments and parenting skills through the Circles of Security program. During his time supporting families, he’s come to understand the impact past trauma can have on relationships of all kinds - especially when it comes to attachment between parents and children.

Nick’s current focus is providing support to both individuals and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship conflict. Clients would describe Nick’s approach as calming, grounded and focused. He is not only an extremely attentive listener but also skilled at helping his clients identify and leverage their strengths. Nick’s training and experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps clients develop healthier mindsets and learn the practical skills to improve their mood going forward in their lives. He also appreciates what it’s like being a client thanks to the personal work he’s done on communication, relationships, and developing healthy boundaries.

Nick also loves providing marriage counselling for couples at all stages of their relationships. His ongoing training in Gottman Method Couples Counselling helps him guide couples how to communicate more effectively, problem solve as a team, and improve their friendship and intimacy. He believes couples can rebuild trust and connection by directly working through past hurts and betrayal.

Outside of the office, Nick enjoys backcountry camping with his wife and three children, creating art and music, and connecting with the Guelph community.
