Meet Rafeah...
...A passionate Psychotherapist who aims to destigmatize therapy within marginalised communities by offering support for anxiety, depression, identity exploration, stress management, communication, boundary setting, BIPOC, intersectionality, and spirituality challenges.
Drawing from her personal experiences as a person of colour and a visibly Muslim woman, she is a culturally sensitive therapist and promotes accessibility and inclusivity to all of her clients.
As a therapist, Rafeah’s current focus is providing support to individuals struggling with anxiety and depression. Her professional journey has been shaped by her commitment to providing empathetic and evidence-based therapy tailored to each client’s unique needs. Her modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, that builds coping skills before addressing past traumas and unconscious thought processes.
With her unique background in Spiritual Care, Rafeah has a deep understanding of the connection between spirituality and mental health, enabling her to offer holistic support to clients from various backgrounds.
Rafeah highly values taking an intersectional approach - taking into consideration the client’s unique cultural identity and life experiences, to identify client strengths, and develop strategies and mindsets that help clients make realistic and sustainable changes in their lives.
In her sessions, Rafeah cultivates trust, empathy, non-judgement, validation and collaboration with clients, fostering positive therapeutic outcomes and empowering individuals to navigate challenges and achieve personal growth.
Rafeah Gangat is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) #17009 and member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University and completed her Master’s Degree in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy.
Currently Rafeah is available to see clients In-Person and Online Monday through Friday
When Rafeah is not supporting clients at Niilo Wellness she is spending time with friends and family, reading, or baking.
