Meet Steph...
…A compassionate psychotherapist who is dedicated to supporting a diverse range of individuals facing difficulties with anxiety, sex and relationships, self-esteem, and boundaries. She aims to enhance their overall well-being and live more intentional and enriching lives.
Understanding the courage it takes to be vulnerable and ask for help, Steph creates a safe and non-judgemental space for clients to open up about difficult and taboo topics. She prioritises building trust so that clients feel heard, validated, and respected.
Currently, Steph focuses on supporting individuals (ages 17+) who are struggling with anxiety, relationships, and feel stuck in unhelpful patterns. She is particularly passionate about working with post-secondary students, helping them navigate academic pressure, identity exploration, relationship issues, and the transition to independence during these transformative years. She collaborates with students to develop sustainable coping skills, enhance social support, build confidence, and promote positive long-term outcomes.
Steph uses an integrative approach tailored to each client’s specific needs, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Emotionally-Focused Therapy. She values cultural humility and adopts a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive approach that honours the unique experiences of each client.
In sessions with Steph, clients can expect her to be enthusiastic about meeting their counselling preferences, co-creating goals, and working together to define what “progress” uniquely means for them. Clients would describe her approach as gentle, grounded, challenging, and sometimes humorous. She highlights client’s strengths and helps them gain direction while effectively handling the pain and suffering that come along with being human.
Steph is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying, #14536) and member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Family and Child Studies from the University of Guelph, and a Master of Counselling Psychology from Adler University.
Embracing a lifelong learning mindset, Steph engages in ongoing training to expand her skillset. She is currently pursuing further training to support clients who struggle with codependency in their relationships, as well as those who have experienced narcissistic abuse and gaslighting. Steph is also in the process of pursuing further education to become a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP) and aspires to further her education in sex therapy.
Currently, Steph is available to see clients Online or In-Person Monday to Thursday, offering a mix of daytime and evening appointments.
Outside of the office, Steph enjoys spending time with her cats, reading, going to the gym, indulging in reality TV, listening to reggaeton, and being with her loved ones.
