Meet Tianna...
...A Registered Social Worker, passionate about counselling youth and young adults to help them envision & strive towards their bright futures by empowering them to work through the struggles of anxiety, depression & low self-esteem they face today. For those aged 10-25 years old, Tianna aims to ensure clients feel protected, seen & heard, as they learn to trust that there is space for them in this world - and they truly matter!
For kids struggling with anger, grief, or tricky friendship & family issues, it can feel as though joy in childhood is lost. Tianna empowers children & youth to work through the struggles they face, manage big & complicated emotions, and create space to feel understood & safe to be themselves.
Similarly, as a young adult who lacked support as a child and recognize how this could have an impact on your future, and now is the time to reach out for support. Together you can work through childhood hurts to reclaim the joy to be found, and build upon strengths to feel safe and stable as an emotionally mature adult, striving towards your bright future.
By providing trauma informed care, with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Tianna creates opportunities for youth to gain skills to help manage and cope with big and complicated emotions stemming from their life experiences, to help reduce symptoms of anxiety and distress. With emphasis on their goals, age and stage of development, Tianna helps clients challenge & reframe false beliefs about themselves, identify their triggers, validate their experiences, and create goals and actionable steps towards the aspirations they have for themselves.
Meeting clients where they are at, Tianna creates sessions that are rooted in establishing trust and are client led -to be more high energy with physical movement or more relaxed with colouring- to best facilitate space for clients to be open and explore how they are feeling and how those feelings are impacting their day to day lives.
